Capable of reaching speeds of Mach 2.5 while carrying a substantial offensive payload, the F-111 flew with a crew of two seated side by side in a pressurised cockpit fitted with an escape module for emergency ejection. It saw service in several conflicts, including the Vietnam War, where it was used for nighttime bombing missions and low-altitude attacks.
