Built to Win: The Aussie-Bred Cortina GT 500
Released in July 1965 and built exclusively for Australia, only 112 Ford Cortina GT 500s were produced. Designed to conquer Mount Panorama, it did just that—claiming 1st and 2nd outright at the 1965 Armstrong 500. Driven by Barry Seton and Midge Bosworth, the GT 500’s dominant performance led to rule changes for the following year’s race.
Item includes certificate and production number plate, mounted to the chassis.
