Step into Australian muscle car history with the Classic Carlectables 1/18 Ford XA Falcon RPO83 Sedan in Wild Plum. Released in 1972, the XA GT Falcon was offered in both sedan and hardtop versions and was the first Falcon to be completely designed by Australians, following the end of Falcon production in the United States.

The XA was the largest Falcon yet, combining bold styling with a less aggressive appearance and greater emphasis on comfort and wider appeal. Ford produced just 891 hardtops between July 1972 and September 1973, including only 129 RPO83 coupes, making the GT Special an especially significant chapter in Falcon history.

Officially designated Regular Production Option 83, the RPO83 featured substantial mechanical changes over the standard GT. A huge 780cfm four-barrel Holley carburettor and fabricated exhaust extractors added an estimated 30-40bhp to the existing 300bhp, delivering a significant performance increase. Other upgrades included a modified sump with additional baffles and a manual choke.

The RPO83 also incorporated many bolt-on engine components originally intended for the Phase IV GT-HO, the legendary “Supercar” that was cancelled before entering production in 1972. With its enhanced performance, the RPO83 could cover the quarter mile in the high 14-second range and reach a top speed of around 140mph (225kph).
