Classic Carlectables 1/18 Diecast Replica of the Holden EH Panel Van in Gundagai Grey

Released in 1963, the EH was one of Australia’s most popular-selling cars. With a new engine, clever styling changes and competitive pricing, the EH became the fastest-selling car in Australia. Catering to a wide audience, the EH was available in nine different models, including the Utility and Panel Van commercial vehicles, both of which shared their rear styling with the previous EJ model.

The new powerplant, dubbed the ‘Red’ engine, was more powerful and economical than the previous ‘Grey’ engine while also requiring less maintenance. The 149cui engine delivered 100hp, an increase of 33% over the previous ‘Grey’ engine, while the 179cui delivered 115hp, an increase of 50%. Both engines, along with the Hydramatic transmission, were available in the Utility and Panel Van.

Almost all models sold were equipped with the 149cui engine and manual transmission. Designed for work, the commercial variants featured durable laminated hardwood floors and were rated for a half-ton carrying capacity. They even featured the removal of the driver's side door lock as a safety feature when the driver was making deliveries.

This highly detailed 1/18 scale diecast replica captures the practical character of the EH Panel Van, including its distinctive Standard interior, detailed engine bay and functional exterior features. The model also features an individually numbered etched metal plate mounted to the chassis.

• The interior was built for business, with 79 cu. ft. of cargo space and a durable laminated hardwood floor.
• Opening the rear of the vehicle reveals the metal telescopic arms of the upper tailgate and retaining cables on the lower tailgate, just like the real car.
• The Standard interior features a highly detailed steering wheel and instrument cluster, reflecting the practical nature of the original Panel Van.
• The soft-touch bench seats feature Standard interior engraving, with matching Standard engraving also present on the door liner.
• Colour-coded pressed steel wheel rims with chrome monogrammed hub caps are fitted with soft rubber tyres.
• The detailed 149cui engine and surrounding bay accurately recreate the original powerplant, with metal hinges aiding the smooth opening of the bonnet.
• The front chassis displays the engine sump, exhaust system and working suspension, with the front wheels linked to the steering wheel.
• The chassis bears an individually numbered etched metal plate displaying the edition number of your model.
