Step back into Australian automotive history with the Classic Carlectables 1/18 Holden EH Utility, a detailed diecast replica that celebrates one of Australia’s most iconic and best-selling cars. Released in 1963, the EH became an instant favourite thanks to its new engine design, improved styling and strong value for money. It quickly became the fastest-selling car in the country and was offered in nine model variations, including the hard-working Utility and Panel Van.

The EH introduced the famous “Red” engine, a major improvement over the earlier Grey engine. More powerful, more fuel-efficient and easier to maintain, it helped the EH achieve legendary status. The 149cui engine delivered 100hp, while the 179cui offered an impressive 115hp. Although both engines and the Hydramatic transmission were available in the Utility and Panel Van, most sold were 149cui models with manual transmissions.

Designed for work, the EH Utility featured durable laminated hardwood trays, half-ton load capacity and a simplified Standard trim level. Practical touches, like removing the driver’s side door lock for safer delivery stops, made it a favourite among tradespeople and businesses.

This premium diecast model is packed with authentic details and functional features that bring the iconic EH Utility to life. The rear tray includes a stack of tyres and rims, while the removable tonneau cover and hoop can be peeled back to reveal the meticulously detailed tray floor and side walls. The hinged tailgate opens with retaining cables for added realism.

Inside, the Standard interior features a detailed steering wheel, instrument cluster and soft-touch bench seats engraved with the “Standard” motif. The exterior is complemented by colour-coded pressed steel wheel rims with chrome monogrammed hub caps and soft rubber tyres.

Under the bonnet, collectors can discover a highly detailed 149cui engine and engine bay, complete with metal hinges for smooth opening. The front chassis is equally detailed, showcasing the engine sump, exhaust system and working suspension, with the front wheels linked to the steering wheel for dynamic display and play.

Each model also features a unique etched metal Collector’s Edition plate displaying its individual edition number. Complete with a certificate of authenticity and production number plate mounted to the chassis, this Holden EH Utility makes an excellent addition to any Classic Carlectables, Holden or Australian automotive collection.
