Holden HX Monaro – Style Meets Regulation
Launched in July 1976, the HX Monaro was a cosmetic update of the HJ, introduced primarily to meet the requirements of new ADR 27a emission laws. While power and efficiency dropped due to the added emission controls, the HX stood out visually with a refined grille, bright colour options, bold GTS decals, colour-keyed bumpers, optional spoilers and distinctive bonnet black-outs, making it the most visually distinctive of the four-door Monaros.
