The Corgi De Havilland Mosquito FB VI marks 'The People's Mosquito', a registered charity project rebuilding an airworthy Mosquito to return the 'Wooden Wonder' to UK skies.

Since the tragic loss of RR299 at Barton airfield on 21st July 1996, Britain has been without the sight of a de Havilland Mosquito on the airshow circuit — an aircraft still colloquially known as the 'Wooden Wonder' and arguably the finest multi-role combat aircraft ever conceived. 'The People's Mosquito' project was established to re-manufacture and rebuild a Mosquito with the aim of returning an example to UK skies. The registered charity has seen steady growth over the years, with strong public support, growing corporate involvement, and sustained media interest. As the aircraft takes shape at the project's manufacturing facility in Rye, East Sussex, the team are building a Mosquito in the UK for the first time in over 70 years; on completion, it is expected to wear the markings of a No.418 Squadron RCAF night intruder Mosquito, which flew disruptive covert operations from RAF Ford in West Sussex in the months leading up to the D-Day landings.
