Corgi 1/72 scale Douglas™ AC-47 Gunship 'Spooky 086™' Commemorative Air Force Diecast Model

Douglas™ AC-47 Gunship 'Spooky 086™'is a detailed 1/72 scale die-cast model representing the Commemorative Air Force's AC-47 Gunship. Assigned to the CAF's Texas-based Gulf Coast Wing, the aircraft forms part of an important historic aviation project dedicated to educating the public about the aircraft and the people who built, flew and maintained them.

The aircraft was originally built as a C-47B in 1944 and later assigned to the US Navy as an R4D-6. Although this particular aircraft did not serve in Vietnam, its history demonstrates the adaptability of the C-47 design and its later conversion into an airborne fire support platform.

The 'Spooky 086' markings do not identify a specific AC-47 that served during the Vietnam War. Instead, they pay tribute to 86 individual AC-47 crew members who lost their lives while serving during the conflict.
