Italeri 1/35 90mm Gun Motor Carriage M36B1 Tank Destroyer Plastic Model Kit

The Italeri 90mm Gun Motor Carriage M36B1 is a 1/35 scale plastic assembly model kit of the American WWII tank destroyer.

Please note this is an unassembled plastic model kit requiring assembly; glue and paint are not included and are required to complete the model.

The American tank destroyer M36 was developed during World War II to give the Allies an effective response to German armoured fighting vehicles such as the Panther and Tiger, which combined strong armour with heavy firepower. The M36's offensive ability was based on its 90mm M3 gun, an improvement over the 76mm gun fitted to the preceding M10, which shared the same hull. The M36B1 was a fallback variant born from a shortage of hulls, leading to the M36 turret being placed on a Sherman M4A3 hull. Like all American tank destroyers of the period, the turret was open-topped to give a greater field of vision in battle. The M36B1's effectiveness is proven by its longevity — it remained in service with many armies after World War II, seeing action in the Iran-Iraq War during the 1980s and the Balkan Wars during the 1990s, with some examples captured by Iraqi forces during the 2003 war.
