History: 

The Corvette C8 marks probably the biggest turning point in the brand's 60-year history. For decades, the long hood with front engine was the trademark of the “Vette”. With the C8, Chevrolet switched to the mid-engine concept, in which the power pack is located in front of the rear axle. This ensures a completely new weight distribution and performance at supercar level. The convertible is a technical masterpiece: the hardtop folds elegantly behind the driver. The additional weight of around 40 kilograms compared to the coupe results almost entirely from this complex convertible top mechanism - a detail that underlines the engineering skill of the original.
