Tamiya 1/12 Honda RS1000 Endurance Racer Plastic Model Kit

The Tamiya 1/12 Honda RS1000 Endurance Racer is an updated re-issue capturing Honda's hard-charging endurance machine of the early 1980s, complete with a newly added painting reference pamphlet and updated instruction manual.

Please note this is an unassembled plastic model kit requiring assembly; paints, cement and hobby tools are not included and are required to complete the model.

In 1980, Japan joined the endurance racing world with the addition of the Suzuka 8 Hours event, and Honda was an early pioneer of the discipline. Their CB750-based RCB bike took seven wins from eight races in 1976, giving rise to the 900cc DOHC CB900F road bike. The CB900F in turn formed the base for the RS1000, developed as the endurance series reached World Championship status in 1980. Its air-cooled DOHC 16-valve inline-four was bored out to 999cc for over 130hp, with a front anti-dive system added in 1981 alongside larger cowlings. The Fontan/Moineau pairing took the riders' title in 1980, and while Kawasaki won out in 1981, the RS1000 still triumphed in front of the home crowd at that year's Suzuka 8 Hours.
