The Tamiya 1/12 Yamaha FZR750R (OW01) recreates Yamaha's legendary limited-production "works racer" for the street, a machine built directly from the knowledge gained at the Suzuka 8 Hours.

Please note this is an unassembled plastic model kit requiring assembly; paints, cement and hobby tools are not included and are required to complete the model.

During the 1988 Paris Show, Yamaha exhibited its motorcycle technology with the limited-production, street-legal "works racer" designated FZR750R (OW01). This machine was based on the Yamaha YZF750 endurance racer that dominated the 1987 and 1988 Suzuka 8-hour endurance races. Its 5-valve DOHC inline-four engine featured titanium connecting rods, enlarged intake and exhaust ports, and an EXUP (Exhaust Ultimate Power) system to ensure high output, while the swingarm rear suspension and lateral "Deltabox" aluminium frame followed the YZF design for exceptional weight savings and rigidity. This motorcycle was delivered to only a thousand lucky riders around the world.
