Tamiya 1/24 Calsonic Skyline GT-R (R33) Plastic Model Kit

The Tamiya 1/24 Calsonic Skyline GT-R (R33) recreates the dominant blue Nissan GT-R that took victory at the 4th round of the 1996 All Japan GT Championship season in Fuji.

Please note this is an unassembled plastic model kit requiring assembly; paints, cement and hobby tools are not included and are required to complete the model.

The Japanese GT Car Championship was inaugurated in 1993 and quickly grew in popularity, pitting heavily modified Japanese machines against European supercars from the likes of Ferrari, Lamborghini and Porsche. Developed from Nissan's Skyline, the Calsonic Skyline GT-R was one of the series' principal contenders, packing Nissan's latest racing technology into a GT-R-look body shell. Its 2,568cc inline-six twin turbo engine produced an awesome 450hp, sent to the rear wheels through an X-Trac sequential 6-speed gearbox, while its four-wheel double-wishbone suspension closely mirrored the design used on Nissan's dominant Group C machines of the 1980s. The body shell was extensively reworked for improved aerodynamics, with additional air intakes, outlets and oversized fenders giving it an even more aggressive silhouette. Painted in Calsonic's distinctive overall blue livery, the car put on a commanding display for Japanese motorsport fans throughout the 1996 season.
