The F-15 Eagle was developed as a dedicated air-superiority fighter for the U.S. Air Force and entered service in the 1970s. Designed around powerful engines, a large radar and exceptional manoeuvrability, the Eagle became one of the most successful fighter aircraft of the modern era. The F-15C introduced improvements to the original F-15A/B design, including increased internal fuel capacity and updated avionics.
