The Tamiya 1/32 Supermarine Spitfire Mk.XVIe recreates the late-war Merlin-powered Spitfire in impressive 1/32 scale, featuring the distinctive E-type wing, teardrop canopy, Packard-built Merlin 266 engine, and highly detailed cockpit.

Please note this is an unassembled plastic model kit requiring assembly; paints, cement and hobby tools are not included and are required to complete the model.

The Spitfire Mk.XVI was based on the Mk.IX airframe but was powered by the Packard Merlin 266, a license-built version of the Merlin produced in the United States. Most Mk.XVI aircraft featured the E-type wing with two 20mm cannons and two 12.7mm Browning machine guns, while the later teardrop canopy provided improved visibility. The type entered service from late 1944 and served as both a fighter and fighter-bomber during the final stages of WWII.
