Tamiya 1/32 Vought F4U-1 Corsair "Birdcage" Plastic Model Kit

Build the original production version of one of the most famous American fighters of the Pacific War with the Tamiya 1/32 Vought F4U-1 Corsair "Birdcage". This large-scale plastic model kit faithfully recreates the Corsair's distinctive inverted gull wing, enormous four-metre propeller and heavily framed "Birdcage" canopy, with a wealth of display options for advanced modellers.

Please note this is an unassembled plastic model kit requiring assembly; paints, cement and hobby tools are not included and are required to complete the model.

Developed around the powerful 2,000hp Pratt & Whitney engine, the F4U Corsair was designed to deliver exceptional performance while accommodating its enormous propeller. The inverted gull wing allowed the aircraft to retain relatively short landing gear despite the propeller's size. The first mass-produced F4U-1 featured a heavily framed canopy that earned it the enduring "Birdcage" nickname.
