The Tamiya 1/48 Aichi M6A1 Seiran recreates Japan's specialised submarine-launched attack aircraft in detailed 1/48 scale, featuring its distinctive float-equipped configuration, folding wings, detailed cockpit, and powerful Atsuta engine.

Please note this is an unassembled plastic model kit requiring assembly; paints, cement and hobby tools are not included and are required to complete the model.

The Aichi M6A1 Seiran was developed for operation from the Imperial Japanese Navy's large I-400-class submarine aircraft carriers. Designed to be dismantled and stored inside the submarine's hangar, the Seiran combined a compact folding configuration with the ability to carry a substantial offensive load. The aircraft's floats could be fitted for conventional water operations, while the type was intended for long-range surprise attacks against strategically important targets.
