The Tamiya 1/48 Chance Vought F4U-1/2 Bird Cage Corsair captures the distinctive early Corsair with its famous inverted gull wings and heavily framed "Birdcage" canopy, while allowing modellers to build either the standard F4U-1 or radar-equipped F4U-2 nightfighter.

Please note this is an unassembled plastic model kit requiring assembly; paints, cement and hobby tools are not included and are required to complete the model.

The F4U Corsair was one of the most recognisable American fighters of WWII, combining a powerful Pratt & Whitney Double Wasp engine with a distinctive inverted gull-wing design developed around its enormous propeller. The F4U-1 was the first mass-produced version and featured the heavily framed canopy that earned it the "Birdcage" nickname, while the F4U-2 adapted the aircraft for night fighting with a radar pod mounted near the right wingtip.
