The Tamiya 1/48 Fairey Swordfish Mk.II recreates the Royal Navy's famous carrier-borne torpedo bomber in detailed 1/48 scale, featuring its distinctive fabric-covered wings, open cockpit, torpedo armament, and detailed Bristol Pegasus engine.

Please note this is an unassembled plastic model kit requiring assembly; paints, cement and hobby tools are not included and are required to complete the model.

The Fairey Swordfish entered Royal Navy service before WWII and remained in frontline use throughout the conflict despite its relatively slow speed. Its rugged construction, excellent low-speed handling and ability to operate from aircraft carriers made it particularly effective in torpedo attacks. The Mk.II introduced a metal lower wing centre section to allow the aircraft to carry heavier weapons and improved equipment, and Swordfish aircraft played a notable role in the Battle of Taranto and the hunt for the German battleship Bismarck.
