Build one of Japan's most distinctive fighters of the Second World War with the Tamiya 1/48 Kawasaki Ki-61-Id Hien (Tony). This highly detailed plastic model assembly kit accurately captures the Hien's elegant, slimline fuselage, elongated nose and long wings, while its detailed Ha-40 engine and cockpit provide an impressive level of realism in 1/48 scale.

Please note this is an unassembled plastic model kit requiring assembly; paints, cement and hobby tools are not included and are required to complete the model.

The Kawasaki Ki-61 Hien stood apart from many of its Japanese contemporaries through its use of a liquid-cooled Ha-40 engine. The Ki-61-Id featured a 20cm-elongated nose housing 20mm cannons, together with 12.7mm machine guns in the wings. With 1,360 examples produced, the Ki-61-Id was the most numerous Hien variant and was frequently tasked with intercepting high-altitude Allied bombers over Japan.
