The Tamiya 1/48 Lockheed Martin F-35B Lightning II recreates the short takeoff and vertical landing variant in detailed 1/48 scale, with options to build the aircraft in parked, short takeoff or vertical landing configuration.

Please note this is an unassembled plastic model kit requiring assembly; cement, paint and finishing supplies are not included and are required to complete the model.

The F-35B was developed as the Marines' short takeoff and vertical landing variant of the F-35 Lightning II. A lift fan installed between the cockpit and engine works with the three-bearing swivel module mechanism to provide STOVL capability. The F-35B also incorporates stealth characteristics and numerous sensors, and can operate from aircraft carriers, amphibious assault ships and airfields featuring short runways.
