Tamiya 1/48 Lockheed P-38J Lightning WWII American Fighter Aircraft Plastic Model Kit

The Tamiya 1/48 Lockheed P-38J Lightning recreates the later P-38J variant in detailed 1/48 scale, with its distinctive twin-engine, twin-tailplane configuration, detailed cockpit, updated engine cowlings and intercooler arrangements, plus a selection of drop tanks and three marking options.

Please note this is an unassembled plastic model kit requiring assembly; paints, cement and hobby tools are not included and are required to complete the model.

The P-38J featured intercoolers under its engines and produced 1,450hp at high altitude and up to 1,600hp. Fuel tanks in the wingtip leading edges provided additional range alongside the main fuel tank. Tamiya's kit focuses on the later P-38J form and its distinctive configuration.
