TAMIYA 1/700 BRITISH DESTROYER E CLASS

Tamiya 1/700 British Destroyer E Class Plastic Model Kit

The Tamiya British Destroyer E Class is a high-quality 1/700 scale plastic assembly model kit of the Royal Navy destroyers that took part in many of WWII's most important naval battles.

Please note this is an unassembled plastic model kit requiring assembly; paints, cement and hobby tools are not included and are required to complete the model.

To protect the vital shipping routes that spanned their vast empire, the British Navy built a large number of destroyers in the years leading up to WWII. The nine ships of the E Class, Exmouth, Echo, Eclipse, Electra, Encounter, Escapade, Escort, Esk and Express, were completed in 1934 and took part in many important naval battles throughout the war, such as the hunt for the Bismarck and the Battle of Java Sea. Each ship had a standard displacement of 1,350 tons, a length of 100.28m, a greatest width of 10.13m, a speed of 36 knots and 36,000hp, and was armed with four 12cm guns, two quadruple 12.7mm machine gun mounts and two quadruple 53.3cm torpedo tubes.
