Tamiya 1/700 Shimakaze Destroyer Plastic Model Kit
The Tamiya Shimakaze Destroyer is a 1/700 scale plastic assembly model kit depicting Japan's one-of-a-kind next-generation destroyer.
Please note this is an unassembled plastic model kit requiring assembly; paints, cement and hobby tools are not included and are required to complete the model.
Commissioned in May 1943, Shimakaze was powered by high-temperature, high-pressure Kampon boilers producing 75,000hp and reached a record speed of 40.9 knots for a Japanese destroyer. Armed with three twin 12.7cm gun turrets and three quintuple torpedo tube mounts, she took part in the evacuation of Japanese troops from Kiska before later being sunk during a transport mission near Leyte in November 1944.
