The Ilyushin IL-2 Shturmovik was the Soviet military's principal ground-attack aircraft during WWII, with more than 36,000 examples produced by the end of the war. Tamiya's kit represents the later two-seat configuration, including the distinctive wooden rear fuselage and wings with a 15-degree sweepback.
