The Tamiya 1/72 Mitsubishi A6M5 Zero Fighter recreates the later Model 52 Zero in compact 1/72 scale, with newly tooled parts capturing the aircraft's graceful proportions, shortened rounded-tip wings, individual exhausts, and characteristic engine cowling.

Please note this is an unassembled plastic model kit requiring assembly; paints, cement and hobby tools are not included and are required to complete the model.

The Mitsubishi A6M Zero was the Japanese Navy's principal fighter throughout the Pacific War. The A6M5 Model 52 was developed as Japanese designers sought to improve the aircraft's performance against increasingly capable Allied fighters. It featured shorter wings with rounded wingtips, individual exhaust pipes and an improved exhaust propulsion system. A6M5 aircraft entered combat in late 1943 and continued to serve in major Pacific campaigns through to the defence of Japan.
