TAMIYA RC 1/10 VW GOLF II GTI 16V - RED PAINTED BODY (MB-01)

Tamiya is proud to introduce this limited edition version of Item 58748 – the 1/10 scale R/C Volkswagen Golf II GTI 16V, featuring a long wheelbase and front motor/front-wheel drive (FF) layout on the versatile MB-01 chassis.

This special release comes with a pre-painted polycarbonate body in striking Bright Red with Smoke-tinted windows. The body also features pre-cut wheel arches and pre-drilled body mount holes, making it ideal for both beginners and experienced R/C builders looking for a hassle-free start.

Volkswagen Golf II GTI 16V

The front-wheel drive Volkswagen Golf is one of the most iconic vehicles in the brand’s history. Since its debut in 1974, the Golf has remained a leader in the global compact car market. In 1986, the high-performance Golf II GTI 16V joined the second-generation Golf lineup (introduced in 1983). Powered by a 1,781cc inline-4 DOHC 16-valve engine, the GTI 16V quickly gained motorsport recognition—securing class victories in international rally competitions.

This R/C assembly kit faithfully recreates the Golf II GTI 16V in 1/10 scale. The distinctive body shape is expertly rendered in lightweight polycarbonate, with separate parts for the headlight housings and side mirrors. A detailed sticker set is included to complete the realistic finish.

MB-01 Chassis – Compact & Versatile
This model is built on the adaptable MB-01 chassis, a compact 2WD platform that offers:

• Three wheelbase options:
• Selectable front- or rear-wheel drive configurations

This kit is configured for front-wheel drive, staying true to the original Golf layout. Switching between FWD and RWD is simple—just reconfigure the final gear and steering linkage attachments without removing the battery, motor, or R/C components from the central frame.

For RWD setups, builders can also choose between low or high motor positions to tailor handling characteristics.

• 4-wheel double wishbone suspension with a symmetrical structure and friction dampers
• Modular design for the motor mount, gear unit, and suspension—making assembly and maintenance straightforward and efficient
